[RYUKYU COLLECTION VOL.3]


The third in the "RYUKYU COLLECTION" series that expresses the "culture, nature, and spirit" of Okinawa in the Eanbe way. This all-over aloha shirt depicts various icons that symbolize Okinawa in the style of neon signs. The artwork is by illustrator Kyoko Nakamura.

There are 16 icons in total, including familiar icons such as the Shureimon gate of Shuri Castle, sanshin (Okinawan traditional three-stringed instrument), and seasaur, as well as somewhat more niche icons.

If you don't know the name of something, ask an Okinawan freak around you.

In order to express the complex patterns beautifully, the shirt prints are dyed using a technique called "hand printing" at dye factories with a long history and tradition in Japan. Hand printing is a method in which craftsmen carefully dye the cloth one by one by hand, and the pattern is highly reproducible and delicate colors can be expressed.


The dyed fabric is then hand-sewn one by one by Okinawan craftsmen, and then delivered to you.
